These burs are our favourites for adjusting the occlusion of composite restorations after placement.
They are the perfect size to adjust high spots and because they are round burs they can be used on all aspects on the tooth effectively.
The workflow for occlusal adjustment we recommend is as follows:
1) Record shim stock holding contacts in ICP prior to placing the restoration
2) Check for holding contacts when restoration is completed in ICP. If there are no longer there then the restoration needs adjustment
3) Mark up the restoration using articulating foil and adjust all points that are marking heavily
4) Recheck holding contacts and repeat mark up and adjustment steps until holding contacts are reestablished
5) Now mark the restoration in dynamic occlusion and adjust as needed.
