Previously rhodium coated front surface mirrors were the best available but in recent years manufactured have started coating the glass with zirconia derivatives.

The results are outstanding mirrors with amazing image clarity and a lot less light loss.

If you haven’t ever tried them you really should! When you think of what we dentists invest in better vision with microscopes and loupes while more expensive than rhoadium coated mirrors these mirrors make so much difference!

There are few manufacturers making mirrors like this and we are very happy to supply the Hahnenkratt version which we have found to be excellent.

Instructions for cleaning:
1)To avoid adherent contamination, put the instruments into disinfectant liquids immediately after use and clean them instantly.

2) Mouth mirrors should preferably be rinsed with fully deionised water.

If tap water is used for rinsing, only absolutely dry instruments have to be placed in the steriliser in order to avoid calciferous residues and/or watermarks.

During sterilisation with high temperatures, these residues will even bake in the glass mirror coating and cannot be removed.

3. If the decalcification of the washer is not correctly adjusted, calciferous residues will impair the mirror quality.
