The kit contains 1 of each of the following burs complete with a 30 bur Incidental bur stand
D-1- Occluflex Medium, D2- Occlufex Fine
The EVE Occluflex diamond polishers are terrific for finishing restorations. They should be used in a 1:1 handpiece at 3000-8000 RPM with low pressure. They can be used with or without water but we find this pattern works particularly well with water.
The Occluflex shape lends itself to entering grooves and ridges. It works particularly well on posterior composites, the palatal surface of anterior composites and to polish the grooves of anterior composites facially.
D-3 - Twist Fine, D-5- Twist Medium
The EVE twist diamond polishers are terrific for finishing restorations. They should be used in a 1:1 handpiece at 3000-8000 RPM with low pressure. They can be used with or without water but we find this pattern works particularly well without water in short bursts to avoid overheating.
The twist shape lends itself to finishing the labial surfaces and incisal edges of anterior composites. They can also be used for posterior restorations if required and space allows.
D-12- Mandrel
This mandrel can be used with our range of Tor VM polishing discs. Polishing discs are fantastic for bevelling enamel, finishing anterior composite and even posterior marginal ridges.
D-13- Carbide Polisher (C282K.014.FG)
It’s important to polish your direct cavity preparations this removed any unsupported enamel and produce a more uniform surface for bonding.
Carbide polishers are recognised for producing a superior finish to diamonds and so we recommend this useful bur is used to refine and polish all cavity preparations at low speed prior to any sandblasting and bonding procedures.
Max speed 80,000 RPM
D-14 Long Fine Bur (Fine Grit) (D.863.012.F.FG)
We use these burs to polish cavity preparations especially the boxes of proximal cavities. They are useful helpful for refining composite and removing excess resin and small overhangs.
Max speed 225,000 RPM
D-15 Round End Taper Bur Coarse Grit (D.850.016.F.FG)
This bur is a useful addition to the direct bur kit. It is suitable for the initial access of pulp chambers but can also be used for sectioning teeth due to its increased length.
Max speed 225,000 RPM
D-18- Tissue Cutting Round Bur (RD.801L.314.014M)
These burs are ideal for rotary curettage. To do this the burs should be used on a high-speed air motor (not speed increasing handpiece) with the water off. The gingiva can then be carefully and safely removed to allow access to subginigval margins and correct wedge placement.
D-19- Rugby Ball with Point Fine Grit (D.368.023.F.FG)
This popular polishing bur is useful for finishing preparation margins but also adjusting the occlusion of direct restorations.
Max speed 225,000 RPM
D-20- Needle Bur Fine Grit (D.392.016.F.FG)
Needle burs are especially helpful for preparing the Cavo surface angle of cavity boxes and helping to safely break contact points and smooth cavity boxes.
Max speed 225,000 RPM
D-21- Long Torpedo Bur Extra Fine Grit (D.390L.014.XF.FG)
This bur is exceptionally versatile and useful. It is principally used for bevelling preparation margins and polishing the palatal surface of anterior composites.
We also use it for polishing the cervical portion of anterior composites, adjusting the occlusion of posterior composites and defining secondary anatomy of anterior composites.
Max speed 225,000 RPM
D-23 Carbide Rose Head Bur 14mm Diameter (C.1SXM.014.RA)
The carbide burs hold some significant advantages over transitional steel rosehead burs. Firstly the bur has a narrow shank allowing better visual access to the cutting tip, Second the bur cuts the carious dentine tissue very cleanly and efficiently, finally the burs are suitable for autoclaving and can be resused.
We use this small diameter carbide burs for carefully clearing and refining the ADJ preparation. We also use them for placing grooves in anterior composites.
Max speed 30,000 RPM
D-24 Carbide Rose Head Bur 18mm Diameter (C.1SXM.018.RA)
The carbide burs hold some significant advantages over transitional steel rosehead burs. Firstly the bur has a narrow shank allowing better visual access to the cutting tip, Second the bur cuts the carious dentine tissue very cleanly and efficiently, finally the burs are suitable for autoclaving and can be resused.
We use this larger diameter bur for gross caries removal.
Max speed 30,000 RPM
D-25 16mm Round Occlusal Adjustment Bur (D.801.016.F.FG)
D-29- Round End Taper Bur Fine Grit (D.850L.016.G.FG)
This round taper bur is perfect for refining cavity preparations especially the box of a class 2 cavity
Max speed 225,000 RPM
D-30- Pear Shaped Bur Coarse Grit (D.830.012.G.FG)
This bur is the perfect size and shape for removing old restorations and accessing incipient carious lesions.
Max speed 225,000 RPM
